Sudan Film Factory is an independent cultural platform that aims to build the capacities of young Sudanese talents, produce films and expose Sudanese audiences to film making and cinema.
It started off as a training project for documentary film making in Goethe Institut in late 2009. After the hugely successful first workshop, a series of successive workshops continued over the following years to include more than 180 trainees.
The Film Factory broke away from Goethe Institute in 2013 to become an autonomous Sudanese platform for training and producing films, as well as its organizing an annual film festival. It has produced more than 44 films, and has conducted more than 30 training workshops in writing, filming, sound, lighting, editing, marketing, directing, costume design and others. All these workshops are held free of charge.
